How to utilize the interactive presentation software Mentimeter

Dear colleagues,

In today’s explainer video, I am going to highlight the interactive presentation software Mentimeter. Mentimeter can be used to engage your students live in class, as well as during online based lectures.

If you need support on how to get started, please get in touch.

A new beginning…

Through conversations with some of my new colleagues at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and through accessing existing online resources, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the status of digitalization at the faculty of Technology and Bionics, in the past month.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, special measures had to be undertaken in record time, as in-person lectures and workshops were not possible for most of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. I was pleased to hear about the triumphs the team achieved, which included the following highlights: the development of an online learning environment, the production of lecture casts, one-to-one support, group projects, and downloadable learning materials, among many other learning resources.

While the rapid transition from offline to online has included setbacks and disappointments, I hope to help you ‘fill in the gaps’. I would like to share, for example, how to create a pool of resources to use now and in the future, and to enable your students to access multimedia-based content that suits and supports their learning style.

I am looking forward to working with you all!

All the Best,

Naomi Mc Laughlan
