THUAS PROFESSOR VISITS MASARYK UNIVERSITY

Tineke Swart, team leader of the European Studies Programme at THUAS, visited MU to discuss some innovative strategies with representatives of MU faculties where the European dimension is an inherent part of the curriculum. T. Swart met the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Assoc. Prof. Ivan Maly, and a number of meetings were arranged by MU Centre for Intnal. Cooperation at different faculties, the Language Centre and the Support Centre for Students with special Needs.

VISIT TO THUAS BY REPRESENTATIVES OF UNICA

Prof. A. Carucci (Vice Rector, International Affairs), Prof. S. Usai (Dean of the Faculty of Economic, Law and Political Sciences) and Prof. G. Giacinto (Erasmus Coordinator, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture) visited The Hague. The Director of the Board, L. Geluk, and Prof. Carucci signed the Memorandum of Understanding establishing UNICA as a strategic partner. More info.

MASARYK – FACULTY OF EDUCATION

The First International Curriculum Board Meeting took place at the Faculty of Education (Masaryk University) . The Board, consisting of local and international experts (UK, Finland, Austria and the Netherlands), among which two representatives of The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Jos Walenkamp and Len Middelbeek, discussed mainly various possibilities of integration of theso-called “21st century skills” into traditional study programmes taught at the Faculty of Education

THUAS PROFESSORS VISIT UFV

Tineke Swart and Marjo van den Haspel visited UFV campus on 23rd and 24th November. The aim was to identify best practices within institutions witha similar programme/s and our strategic partner institutions. Several meetings were arranged with staff of the International Office (photo), International Relations degree, Business degree, Internships department and the Language Center.

MEETING IN CAGLIARI – THE HAGUE NETWORK

Second meeting of the network, hosted by UNICA, the new partner of the network.
Attended by the following: P. Nixon(THUAS), R. Rawash (THUAS), E. Lister (University of Derby), J. Pavlik (Masaryk University), B. Navajas (UFV), A. Carucci (UNICA) and several academic staff from UNICA. K. Jokipakka (TAMK) attended by Skype.
A name is agreed: The Hague Network.
First steps towards stablishing objectives and goals of the network. Paul Nixon will take the lead for the network for the next three years.

BENCHMARKING VISIT FROM THUAS TO TAMK

Programme Director, European Studies & Principal Lecturer Paul Shotton, from THUAS visited Finland, Tampere and TAMK in early November 2017. Prof. Shotton had several meetings evolving around topics from annual planning and budgeting to curriculum building, to coaching teams as a method of teaching, and to community building, for example. The visit was beneficial to both parties: the benchmarking discussions were engaging and future collaboration is brewing.

VISIT TO THUAS BY REPRESENTATIVES OFTAMK

The visit was on the broad topic of entrepreneurship and the party consisted of Tiina Koskiranta (Focus Area Leader,Entrepreneurship and New Business) Leena Eerola, (Team Leader Y-kampus) and Pia Hautamäki, (Researcher and Principal Lecturer in Sales).

The following activities were held:

  • Meeting with Europe PlatformCoordinator.
  • Meetings with representativesof those teaching Minors in Entrepreneurship and StartUps (TIS) and Social Entrepreneurship (M & O) andalso from the Small Business Unit (BFM).
  • Research focused meetingswith Lectors in ‘Sustainable Finance’ and ‘ChangeManagement’.

FIRST MEETING OF THE NETWORK IN MADRID

The first meeting of the network took place in UFV campus in Madrid, the day before EAIE started in Seville. Paul Nixon took the opportunity to introduce the members of the network and start exchanging ideas about the future projects to develop.
